Balance

Balance is difficult to attain, but in theory it’s simple.

I have been taking care of my uncle’s dog this weekend. He is a very pleasant companion.

Dogs are better than humans at living simple lives. Bruno embodies this simplicity in the best way.

Bruno needs a walk every day.

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day.

Today it was rainy and slushy.

Either way Bruno needs to get out and stretch his legs. He expects it. He tells you when that’s what he needs.

A simple look.

An excited wiggle.

A single bark.

He’s ready to go.

Every day he has energy, every day it needs to be expended. Plus what’s nicer than a walk outside in our surroundings?

Bruno loves food.

He needs food. Once in the morning, once in the afternoon.

Treats are the best way to make him happy.

You sometimes have to tell him not to beg, but it’s because he is inherently optimistic!

Bruno knows that fundamentally there is one thing that he needs to live and it is his greatest passion. How efficient is that?

Bruno needs love!

He doesn’t like being alone. He prefers to be in the same room as you.

When a human he knows gets home, Bruno does an excited dance and comes to say hello. If he is especially happy to see you then he will pick up a shoe in his mouth and bring it to you as a gift (thank you Bruno! Thank you. Ok drop it. Drop it. Good boy!)

Bruno does not have many relationships, but he is very loyal and attached to those who feed him and care for him. He loves to push into you as you pet his head and ears. Bum scratches will usually get you licks.

He isn’t afraid to show affection.

Good for you Bruno! We should all care about our relationships that much.

We should all be as open as you about needing attention and love!

Bruno’s other hobbies include rolling around (in grass and dirt and mud and snow), barking at squirrels, and sniffing where other dogs have peed before marking his territory.

Besides that he is resting. Especially now that he is older.

We all need to stretch our legs and move around (an outlet for our energy).

We all want a roof over our heads.

We all want to be fed

We all want to feel good.

We all want to feel heard.

We all want to feel loved and validated and connected with others.
