If you have been following my online presence at all lately you will have noticed a lot of new activity on my website! Here is a run down of what I have been up to and what is to come:
What I did:
This month I launched a survey for a new podcast project. The project is designed to be an open conversation about how communities interact with the arts.
Why I did it:
I want to reach out and engage my network! I want to create an inclusive product that generates relevant discussion. I want to gain experience in communications and radio production.
How did it.
First I created a portal on my website where users can upload audio files. I then created an introductory video that I produced to introduce the project. I then launched a social media campaign online to spread the word. Most importantly, I took the time to reach out to and reconnect with members of my network individually.

I have been organizing and editing audio files as I receive them. There have been a number of very thoughtful and insightful responses so far that have energized the project.
I am very excited to have background music for my videos recorded by Dan Reifsteck, Kevin Madison, Ben Baker, and yours truly! I am really looking forward to recording more music for the podcast with them.
What I learned:
I learned the fundamentals of reading and writing in html. I also honed my video and communications skills.
I developed a system for prospecting communities and individuals to engage with a my brand, my product, and my website.
I reminded myself that I am only as strong as my network. It takes effort to make connections with humans and maintain them and I am really trying to embrace that effort because it feels healthy and energizing to connect and communicate.
What’s next?
I just released a new series of social media posts with a new video that continues the conversation and extends the survey. I plan on continuing to collect and organize audio footage until I have enough to develop the final product. Once I create a narrative and edit the audio, I will have a recording session with some local musicians to create an instrumental soundtrack to accompany the discussion.
