Yesterday was my 24th birthday. I have been taking some time to reflect about some of the important things I have learned during my life so far. Here are 24 life lessons in no particular order:
- Good food and good company will always bring joy.
- Calling your parents regularly will keep all of you sane.
- Always wear a smile when meeting new people.
- There are always connections to be made.
- Keep technology away from the dinner table, it’s precious face to face time that we otherwise lack.
- A funky album is always worth the money.
- Listen carefully.
- Keep an open mind.
- It’s never too late to try something new.
- Slow down, life is not a race.
- Read more, articles, books, magazines.
- Check your sources.
- Sharing feels good for everyone involved.
- Encourage others as well as yourself.
- Take your time when responding to something that upsets you.
- Learn to improvise.
- The crazier the sweater pattern, the better.
- The gift of gab really is a talent.
- Make time for loved ones.
- A good Negroni can fix just about anything.
- Always eat your vegetables.
- Meditate (or scream alone in your car).
- Exercise and stretch regularly, it helps the body and the mind.
- If you want to improve, be consistent.
What have you learned this year?
Remember that every day brings new opportunities to learn and grow.
Thank you to my parents for bringing me into this world!
